Lindenwood reclaims team title at the Women’s Collegiate National Championships
Lindenwood University claimed their fourth national title, and first since 2019, Friday at the 2023 USA Gymnastics Women’s Collegiate National Championships in Denton, Texas.
The Lions posted a combined 195.325 to top the team podium. Host Texas Women’s University secured silver with a 194.900, edging Southeast Missouri State University and Air Force, who tied for bronze with a 194.850.
Lindenwood’s team performance was boosted by Gayla Griswold’s 9.900 on floor exercise, and a pair of 9.850 scores on balance beam by Jaly Jones and Madison Rush. Lindenwood’s Hannah Moon also tied with TWU’s Brooke Ferrari for top spot on uneven bars with a 9.825.
Southeast Missouri’s Lindsay Ockler was the top performer on vault with a 9.825, while teammate Anna Speller led the way on beam with a 9.875.
Apparatus finals begin Saturday, April 8 at 2 p.m. ET at the Kitty Magee Arena, where gymnasts will vie for individual titles. The full list of participants can be found here.
